6 Days Bwindi and Queen Elizabeth

6 Days 5 Nights Uganda safari tracking gorillas in Bwindi, Chimpanzee trekking in Kalinju and visiting wildlife in Queen Elizabeth national park.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to the Hotel in Kampala (1 and a half hours) because of Jam.

On your arrival, our company representative together with the guide/driver will welcome you and transfer to the Hotel in Kampala for dinner and overnight stay at Forest cottages (budget), Acacia Lodge (mid-range) and Sheraton hotel Kampala (Luxury)

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National Park (Appx. 9 hours)

Have your early morning breakfast and start on your long journey to Bwindi with a stopover at the Equator for photography and the experiment. Proceed to Bwindi driving past Lake Mburo National park and another stopover in Mbarara town for lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre.

Proceed to Bwindi arriving late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Community Rest Camp (budget), Buhoma Community Haven Lodge (mid-range), Silverback Lodge / Mahogany Springs Lodge(luxury).

Day 3: Gorilla trekking – Bwindi

Enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with packed lunch for briefing by the ranger guides and later head into the forest for the trek. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi can last anywhere between 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas.

On finding them, visitors are allowed 1 hour to view and take photos of these gentle primates and later return to the starting point where a certificate is awarded and meet the driver / guide and transfer back to the lodge. The time after trekking can be spent on a village tour or lazing off at the hotel as you savour the memories of your gorilla trek and prepare for the next day. Dinner and overnight at as above.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

Wake up early, have breakfast then meet your guide/driver. Then embark on a 3-4 hours trip to Queen Elizabeth National park about 6 hours drive from Bwindi. The park is located in western Uganda in the districts of Kasese. Upon arrival at the park in the afternoon, report for a boat trip to kazinga channel, this will take about 4 hours.

You will get an opportunity to see a number of bird species, elephants and buffalos, hippos and crocodiles. Retreat from the game drive and proceed to the lodge and relax at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at  Pumba cotteges (budget), Park view Lodge (mid-range) and Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury)

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking and Transfer to Kampala

After breakfast early in the morning, you will depart for Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge / Kalinju in Queen Elizabeth national park. During the tracking, you will slope down with sights of magical lush mature tropical forest, thriving below sea level supporting counts of chimpanzees.

Hiking the gorge’s steep slopes in search of the chimps is challenging but eventually encountering them gives a life time memory as you will find them rolling on tree branches, making pant hooting calls, also spot the black and white colobus monkeys and the olive baboons. The walk generally takes around 2‐5 hours.

After tracking, embark on a 5-6 hours journey to Kampala city with lunch en-route in Mbarara town. Forest cottages (budget), Acacia Lodge (mid-range) and Sheraton hotel Kampala (Luxury)

Day 6: Kampala city tour and transfer to the Airport

After morning breakfast, meet with the driver and embark on your city tour around Kampala city and explore the city with 7 hills. You will visit places including Namugongo Martyrs shrine-place where young Christians were burnt after rebelling the king, Bahai’ temple, independence monument, craft shops and also Kasubi tombs.

After the activity, have lunch and embark on a 2 hours drive to Entebbe, then the Airport to catch your flight back home.
