Queen Elizabeth National Park is the second largest national park in Uganda with the highest biodiversity ratings of any national park in the world thus making it the most popular savanna national park in Uganda and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Park is home to close to 100 mammals and 500 hundred birds. The Kazinga channel which connects Lakes Edward and George has the highest concentration of hippopotamus in the world.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is the best place for seeing lions in Uganda including the rare tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector.

3 Days Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Your driver / guide will pick you up from Entebbe airport or your hotel in Kampala and drive to Queen Elizabeth national park. You will have lunch in Mbarara city and proceed to the park past the towns of Bushenyi, Ishaka and the beautiful tea plantations in Kyamuhunga. On arrival, you will go for an afternoon game drive.
Tracking is the only way that will enable you see all the wildlife in its natural setting for example buffalo, elephants and other animals that dwell in the grassland thickets of the Northern Kazinga close to Mweya.
For those looking forward to seeing the lions, they are commonly spotted in the eastern part of Kasenyi plains and the Kasese road where they prey on the big inhabitants of Uganda Kobs. The most favourable time for game drives is during morning and late afternoon hours.
Day 2: Game Drive and Launch cruise
After breakfast, we will drive southwards to the Ishasha sector of the park which is a home for tree climbing lions.
You will have a pleasant view of the Uganda kob, elephants and some birds of riverine and savanna habitats. Return to the lodge for lunch and later go for a launch cruise along the kazinga channel where you may spot various water birds and animals as they come down to drink and bathe.
Day 3: Back to Kampala / Entebbe & Departure
On this morning, you have the option of embarking on Chimpanzee tracking or enjoying another morning game drive after which you will drive back to Kampala with a stopover for lunch in Mbarara town and at the equator for photography and the experiment.
Proceed to Kampala and drop –off at your hotel or Entebbe airport for your onward flight.
