12 Days Uganda Classic Tour

This 12 Days Uganda Tour gives you the opportunity to explore premium Uganda safari parks for the most sought after adventures – it’s a classic tour!

Day 1: Entebbe

Upon arrival for your 12 Days Uganda tour at Entebbe Airport, we will pick you and transfer you to your accommodation which is a 10 minutes’ drive from the airport.

Overnight: Karibu Guesthouse.

Day 2: To Murchison Falls National Park

Have an early breakfast and then head to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary180 km from Kampala. This sanctuary was started in 2005 as a project by the Uganda Wildlife Authority and the Rhino Fund project as an initiative to build a sustainable rhinoceros population and relocate rhinos back to their original habitat in Uganda’s protected areas. Here you will have a wonderful experience tracking the southern white rhinos.

You will have Lunch in Masindi town and after that proceed to Murchison Falls National Park to check at your accommodation.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast you will head for a game drive on the northern sector of the park. Watch out for the Albert endemic birds and Rothschild giraffes, buffalos, elephants and if you’re lucky lions and leopards. You will have lunch then take wonderful boat cruise to the bottom part of the Murchison Falls where you will see how the Nile marvelously squeezes its way through a 7 meter wide gorge. You will get out of the boat and conduct a guided nature walk to the top of the falls where you will find your driver waiting to transfer you back to the Lodge.

Day 4: Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast we will set off to Kibale Forest National Park found in Fort Portal, a town at the south-western side of Uganda. Kibale Forest Park bares homage to a total of 70 mammal species, most famously 13 species of primate including the Chimpanzees and also contains over375 species of birds.This day will be a long driving day of 8-9 hours; we will have numerous stops to stretch your legs.

Tonight your accommodation will be at Chimpanzee Forest Guesthouse, the lodge is built in the old colonial setting and surrounded by extensive tea plantations.

Day 5: Chimp Tracking & to Queen Elizabeth National Park

A long day ahead of you, so breakfast will be served early then we head to Kibale National Park for the chimpanzee tracking experience this morning.

After the tracking, we travel 180km from Kibale National Park, finding Queen Elizabeth National Park that lies 1978sq km west of Uganda. It harbors a diverse eco-system which are, a lovely savanna, fertile wetlands making it home for the big game, 10 primate species and a large number of bird species. Upon arrival you will head for the beautiful boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. The channel is 40 wide and offers beautiful scenery of hundreds of hippos along the banks as well as different bird species seen when cruising west towards Lake Edward.

After the launch cruise you will check in at Enganzi Lodge for the night.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early morning game drive we will drive southwards to the Ishasha sector of the park which is a home for tree climbing lions. Towards your destination, you will have a pleasant view of the Uganda kob, elephants and some birds of riverine and savanna habitats. Ishasha Jungle Lodge found in the Ishasha sector of this park is where you will be checked in.

Day 7: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest-Walking Safari-Nkuringo

You are warming up for the gorilla tracking… You will drive further south to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is of Uganda´s oldest and most diverse rainforests. The “impenetrable” forest is also home to more than 320 mountain gorillas, 400 species of plants, 120 species of mammals and over 350 species of birds.

In Buhoma which is the northern side of the park you will meet a Walking Safari guide who will walk with you 7 hours through the forest to Nkuringo, on the southern side. Your safari guide will meanwhile drive around to the lodge and will meet you there so we recommend you pack a little day pack as chances are high that you will arrive before him. A packed lunch will be provided.

Day 8: Gorilla Tracking

Certainly one of the most exciting days of your safari; today you will be gorilla tracking. Breakfast will be served early and lunch will be packed. The briefing is at 8 am. Your guide will give you highlights of specific details about the way of life of the gorillas you will be tracking. The hike can take anything from one to seven hours. Once you reach the gorillas, you are allowed to spend one hour with them as you stand 6 meters away

Day 9: Canoe Excursion, Coffee Tour

You will depart the lodge in a vehicle transfer to Rwanjenje site on the northern shores of Lake Mutanda. On arrival at the north shore of the lake you will rendezvous with the dugout canoe team to commence a crossing of the lake to the southern shore. This is a 12 km traverse that will take 2 and 1/2 hours. There will be opportunity to stop for a break on a forested island within the lake en-route on this 12 Days Uganda tour. As you paddle south the volcanoes of the Virunga dominate the southern horizon often to mirror in the waters before you. From the southern shore of the lake you will disembark from the canoes and conduct a short walk to one of the villages where you will tour a coffee plantation. This will be an educative and practical guide on the coffee making process and you will get the chance to prepare your own cup of coffee.After the tour you will get back to your vehicle and drive to Mgahinga National Park.

Day 10: Sabinyo Hike

With an early breakfast, proceed to the visitors’ reception center at Mgahinga for a briefing before your trek to mount climbing. Mt. Sabinyo, at 3,669m.It takes about eight hours to cover the 14km round trip, following a steep ridge up to the peak. The third peak of Mt. Sabinyo is where the 3 countries Uganda, Rwanda and DR Congo meet. It could be one of the highlights of your 12 Days Uganda tour. On clear day the views are stunning and this is the ultimate challenge accomplishment. Return to the lodge to relax and prepare for dinner.

Day 11: Lake Mburo

Depart Kisoro for Lake Mburo which is some 5 hours drive.  Lake Mburo is the smallest of Uganda’s Savannah national parks and underlain by ancient Precambrian metamorphic rocks which date back more than 500 million years. It is home to 350 bird species as well as zebra,impala,eland,buffalo, Oribi, Deffassa, waterbuck, leopard,hippos,hyena,topi and reed buck. You will arrive in the park and head for an evening game drive. You accommodation will be at Rwakobo Lodge which is a beautiful lodge set on rock out crops with wonderful views of the park for a good night sleep on your final night of this 12 Days Uganda tour.

Day 12: Entebbe & departure

You will have a morning game drive to further explore the park .After the game drive you will embark on your journey back to Entebbe which lasts for about 4-5 hours. Arrive at Karibu Guesthouse to freshen up and have dinner before you’re transferred to the airport for your evening flight back home marking the end of your 12 Days Uganda tour
